Services and facilities
The Library is part of the Health Libraries Midlands (HeLM) consortium, offering a range of services to staff and students.
As a member of HeLM, we provide access to a vast array of resources and services, including:
- Shared library catalogue: Search and request items from libraries across the Midlands.
- Inter-library loans: Borrow materials from other HeLM libraries.
- Collaborative initiatives: Benefit from joint projects and partnerships.
HeLM comprises NHS organisations and other partner institutions in the Midlands region. For a full list of participating libraries, please visit the HeLM website.
- Computers with Internet access (to access the Internet in the Learning Centre Library you need to have a network username and password. These can be obtained from the IT Helpdesk on telephone extension 2020)
- A self issue machine which allows you to issue, renew and return items loaned from the library
- A photocopier, scanning facilities, colour printing.
- Free WiFi available.
- Library Study Pods. These can be booked by Trust staff and students on placement. Contact the library to receive registration details. Registered users can create a Hot Desk Booking.
- Over 4,000 books (including e-books) on site and a further 250,000 available through the HeLM Catalogue.
- Digital resources
- Access to over 3,000 electronic full-text journals and health databases
- BrowZine: Smart access to journals. Browse, read, organise and track all your favourite journals via BrowZine.
- Fiction collection
- Access audio books from Overdrive and Libby with your OpenAthens account.
- Staffed hours Monday to Friday: 8.30am—5.00pm
- 24 Hour access with a valid Trust ID Badge
- Inter library loans of books and article request service
