Gastroenterology

Our Gastroenterology and Hepatology service provides a comprehensive range of diagnostic and therapeutic services.

The team consists of consultants and a clinical nurse specialist who provide outpatient, day case and inpatient specialist gastroenterology and endoscopic services, including Capsule Endoscopy.

The Gastroenterology service sees patients with a range of conditions affecting the digestive system, including reflux and ulcer disease, abdominal pain, alterations in bowel habit, Crohn’s Disease and Colitis, and all forms of liver disease. The team offers a full spectrum of gastroenterological investigations and treatments. We also offer specialist clinics in Irritable Bowel Disease, Nutrition and Hepatitis.

Future plans include the employment of a fifth consultant gastroenterologist to offer more intense support to inpatients and enable outpatients to be seen and treated as efficiently as possible.
