7. Education sessions

Once diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes you will be referred to an appropriate education session to learn more about your condition.

It is very important that you attend one of these sessions so that you are better informed about how to manage your diabetes. It is an opportunity to meet others with the same condition. Ask your GP or Practice Nurse for more details.

People with Type 1 diabetes will receive on-going education with a member of the diabetes specialist team.
