Baby Kylian gave mum Doreen Nsiah a “priceless” gift today, arriving a couple of weeks early and giving her a Christmas Day to remember.

The little boy is Doreen’s third child – she also has a son and daughter aged seven and four who live in Ghana with her husband Prince Yeboah, 29, a social worker.

Kylian was born at 8.24am. He was the first boy born at Walsall Manor Hospital on this special day and weighed seven pounds 13 ounces.

Doreen, 31, said: “My children don’t know they have a new baby brother yet – I will call them and send them pictures of him. I think they will be really excited.

“I didn’t think this is how I would spend Christmas Day as he wasn’t due till January but he’s the best present, he’s priceless. I am due to go home possibly tomorrow so will use this time to look after myself so I can care for Kylian. It is hard with my family being in Ghana, but they will see him when they can.”

Walsall Healthcare’s Well Wishers charity arranged for Doreen, who works for a clothing and footwear company,  to have a hamper with some gifts for mum and baby inside.

“This is very kind, thank you,” she said. “And the Midwives have looked after me very well too.”

The charity also gave a hamper to the first baby girl born today. The baby girl was the first Christmas Day baby at Walsall Manor Hospital today, but her family preferred to remain anonymous.
