A recruitment event for potential Community Midwives to work in Walsall is being held later this month.
Visitors to the event at Walsall Manor Hospital on Saturday 16 November will have the opportunity to be interviewed that day, have the opportunity to speak to the team and tour the Midwifery-Led Unit, community office and Delivery Suite.
Laura Parsons, Matron for Maternity Outpatients at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust, said the team was keen to welcome experienced, enthusiastic and caring Community Midwives to support families across all of the communities it serves.
She said: “We affectionately call ourselves the #RealMidwivesofWalsall and are a friendly team providing antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care, in people’s homes as well as our Midwife-led settings, providing one to one care during labour.
“Our priority is to offer effective, individualised women centred care and we are part of the Black Country Local Maternity and Neonatal System (LMNS) which means we share ideas and best practice across our Wolverhampton, Dudley and Sandwell teams too.
“We’re looking forward to meeting some new faces at our recruitment day that will be supported by our Consultants and showing potential Walsall Community Midwives around our services. This includes our Midwifery-Led Unit which was relocated at the hospital earlier this year and that we’re really proud of as it helps us support greater birth choices.”
The event will run from 9am to 2pm and visitors should report to the atrium on route 122 by Antenatal Clinic at Walsall Manor Hospital.
