Walsall researchers are among those shortlisted for the Clinical Research Network West Midlands Awards 2023.
Organisations involved in delivering research all over the region submitted a record number of nominations this year, and the winners will be revealed at an Awards ceremony in November.
Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust’s Research Governance Team is shortlisted in the Collaboration in Research Category for its work on a vitiligo study with colleagues from Wolverhampton; and the Research & Development Team is up for the Industry Award for the progress made in building relationships with study sponsors whilst giving research opportunities to patients.
Catherine Dexter, Research & Development Manager at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust, which is shortlisted in two categories, said: “It is a great honour for our team to be nominated for the Awards; they have shown great teamwork, dedication, and commitment to improving research opportunities to our wider communities in and around Walsall.”
The Network’s Clinical Director Professor Matthew Brookes, said: “The aim of this event is to celebrate the wide range of high quality clinical research taking place right across our region, and it was great to see so many different organisations and initiatives represented amongst the entries.
“This is the eighth year of the Awards and the standard of entries was very high again, giving the judges a real challenge. We look forward to celebrating our Partners’ achievements in November.”
