Researchers from The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust and Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust will gather on Friday 15 September to celebrate the research achievements of both Trusts.
The event, at the Village Hotel in Walsall, will showcase the research studies currently taking place at both Trusts as well as setting out the joint vision for research and sharing best practice.
Applications for research grants have been invited in advance, and a Dragons’ Den style session will see the bids presented and funding awarded.
The event will also hear from the Trusts’ Group Chief Executive Professor David Loughton CBE and Chairman Sir David Nicholson, plus a presentation from Clinical Research Network West Midlands Research Champion Anne Devrell, on the importance of patient and public involvement in research,
Pauline Boyle, Group Director of Research and Development, said: “Research is a key cog in the machinery of healthcare and we have some incredible work going on at both Trusts. This event will give staff the chance to share their ideas for research studies, and see what their colleagues are already achieving.”
