Midwives, Maternity Support Workers and Consultants are looking forward to showcasing services at Walsall Manor Hospital – ahead of a Black Country-wide recruitment event.

They are hosting tours of Maternity Services on Saturday 22 April between 9am and 2pm aimed at potential new recruits to Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust.

As well as highlighting services within the hospital, they will also talk about Community Midwifery Services and the opportunities there.

Laura Parsons, Outpatients Matron, said this month’s showcase event would complement the recruitment session that has been organised by the Black Country Local Maternity and Neonatal System for 3 May at West Bromwich Albion’s Hawthorns ground.

She said: “We thought this would be a great way to let people see our Maternity Services ahead of the May event.

“When we have held similar events they have been really useful for potential colleagues and they have got such a lot out of having the chance to have a good look around and speak to some of the staff who work here who can share their experiences. We are proud of our #RealMidwivesofWalsall and are looking forward to welcoming visitors later this month.”

Displays are being put together to showcase services and visitors will be able to find out more about Walsall’s Early Bird Clinic which means women can book directly and very early in their pregnancy journey, the Trust’s orientation and preceptorship programme to support new starters and the research studies that are underway.

People can simply turn up on 22 April or email the following staff beforehand if they’d prefer: Laura.Parsons18@nhs.net, Zainab.Lawal@nhs.net, or Leanne.Oflaherty@nhs.net
