A Walsall solicitors has proved to be a real asset for a charity fundraising appeal at Walsall Manor Hospital – to the tune of £5,000.
HCB solicitors has kindly donated dormant funds to the playroom appeal on the Children’s Ward and popped in to hand a cheque over to its Well Wishers Charitable Funds Committee Chair Paul Assinder and Fundraising Manager Georgie Westley.
The cash was handed over by solicitors John Buckle and Natalie Baker-Baldwin. John explained that all efforts are made to trace clients to ensure they receive these monies but sometimes it is impossible.
“We heard about the charity when attending Best of Walsall breakfast events and as we are very keen to give our support to the NHS invited Georgie in to our offices to learn more,” he said.
“The playroom appeal will benefit lots of young patients and we’re pleased to support it in this way.”
Paul said: “We’re thrilled that HCB Solicitors has donated this money to us – it will help to make such a difference to the environment on the Children’s Ward.
“It was lovely to meet John and Natalie and I look forward to them coming back into the hospital to see the finished result.”
The playroom makeover, costing around £23,000, is being funded by Well Wishers’ donations. The tired play space is being transformed into a bright and colourful feature, complete with new wall murals, wall art activities, equipment including role play areas and a wet play area.
