A picnic in the park is being held by Walsall Infant Feeding Team to mark National Breastfeeding Week which runs from Monday 27 June to Monday 3 July.
This year’s theme is “everyone has a part to play in helping mums to breastfeed” with a focus on the difference that can be made if everyone supports breastfeeding such as partners, the wider family, community, health and education services and workplaces.
Walsall Infant Feeding Service would like to welcome all breastfeeding mothers, dads, partners, grandparents, and their families to a picnic in the park on Friday 1 July at 11am at Walsall Arboretum. Just meet at 11am at the Visitors Centre, bring a blanket to sit on and food and drink.
The team said: “This will be a wonderful opportunity to show support for breastfeeding and each other.
“National Breastfeeding Week is an opportunity to celebrate the value of breast milk and the health benefits, both physical and emotional, that breastfeeding brings. It is a time to remember that breastfeeding is so much more than food, it is also for comfort and plays an important role in developing emotional health and wellbeing for both mother and baby.”
