We have been thrilled to receive some donations from generous students for Well Wishers’ Christmas Toy Appeal.
South Staffs College students took part in their very own sponsored walk to raise money and donate items for Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust children’s ward.
Student Holly Dawson said: “Our challenge was to walk from the college to Cannock Chase. When we got there we also did three laps and it all totalled up to around 10 miles. It was challenging and some people struggled but we all just thought let’s get it done as it is for a good cause and we managed to raise £320.
Student Ben Humphries added: “We also did this challenge as part of our NCS social project for community. We chose the children’s ward because we thought it would be really good, especially at this time of year as we get to brighten up the young patients’ Christmas even though they are staying in hospital.”
Staff Nurse Anna Wait, Student Nurse Hannah Burns and CSW Michelle Phillips personally came down to thank the students for their donations and said: “We think it’s really lovely that they have taken the time to do something like this. It will really make a massive difference to the children during Christmas.”
