Young patients on the children’s ward at Walsall Manor Hospital will think Christmas has come early thanks to a bumper delivery courtesy of donations made through the Well Wishers charity.
Donations come into Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust’s charity throughout the year from grateful parents, local businesses and funds raised from within the Fundraising Hub in the hospital.
Earlier his week Paediatric Ward 21 Play Specialists Joanne Plank and Emma Lester went on a shopping spree to spend the funds and purchased Nintendos, a TV, craft activities and sensory equipment.
Joanne said: “Since the pandemic these items are more important to our patients than ever as play can only be accessed by the bedside.
“We have bought items for all ages and different needs, and children love anything with lights, music or interactive play. Thanks to everyone who contributes to the Paediatric Fund, it really is very much appreciated and makes a big difference to the young patients in our care.”
