It’s hard to believe that it has been one year since Project Wingman launched at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust!
Over the last 12 months Project Wingman has been on board to support staff and give them a space to have a well-deserved break while working.
Kate Donello from Project Wingman said: “It has been a fantastic experience and it’s really nice to give something back to the NHS. It has also been really good for my morale. I haven’t worked for a year and I’ve always worked in a team so it has been a real mental health boost to be a part of this.”
Jonathan Ogay who is a Ryanair pilot added: It’s been a really nice experience and I have really appreciated being able to help in a way. My partner works for the NHS so I know how hard staff all work and the long hours they have to do so I hope we have brought some joy.”
Staff enjoyed lots of refreshments provided by the team such as cakes and mocktails.
And they are full of praise for the difference that the team has made in Walsall sharing comments:
- “It’s nice to leave the department and come here to have a break.”
- “Project Wingman have been amazing and we want to keep them forever!”
- “Thank you for everything.”
