This news, posted yesterday, brought up some further queries from mums-to-be. Thank you for you feedback and please see our responses below:
Can my partner attend growth scans? No. Not at present but the ultrasound team is working hard to lift restrictions further so that partners are able to attend all scans. Colleagues hope to be able to do so mid-to late next week.
Can my partner attend consultant reviews? Yes. One partner can attend all pre-booked consultant reviews. As long as they provide a negative test result from their lateral flow test on the day of their appointment.
Can my partner attend anomaly scans? Yes. One partner can attend all anomaly scans. As long as they provide a negative test result from their lateral flow test on the day of their appointment.
Can my partner attend pre-booked appointments at the FAU? Yes. One partner can attend a pre-booked appointment at the FAU – as long as they provide a negative test result from their lateral flow test on the day of their appointment.
Why has lateral flow testing only happened now? This is to make sure we can ensure the safety of both patients and our staff. This is also in line with new lateral flow test guidance.
What is the process for birth partners at the Midwifery Led Unit (MLU)? One birth partner can attend throughout their partners whole labour at the MLU.
