Danielle Oum is standing down from her post as Chair of Walsall Healthcare Trust from the end of February 2021.

Richard Beeken Chief Executive said  “ We are understandably saddened to lose Danielle but delighted that she has secured the role of Chair of Birmingham & Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust

Since becoming Chair in 2016 she has led the organisation through many difficult years including coming out of the special measures regime, appointment of a more stable and diverse Trust Board membership and more recently the current pandemic. In her role she has been instrumental in helping to bring about meaningful change. Danielle has helped the organisation to understand the importance of building an inclusive culture, rooting out inequality and working towards a diverse workforce at all levels of the Trust and has  been committed to providing a supportive environment for everyone who works in and uses our services.

Danielle also played a key part in the evolution of Walsall Together and working collaboratively on our behalf with Black Country partners system wide.

Danielle added “ I have worked on the Board of Walsall Healthcare for a number of years and have thoroughly enjoyed my time here. I hope that my leadership through this time has brought positive change for the Trust and wish you well on your continued journey to Outstanding by 2022. I know many of you individually and collectively and would like to thank you for your compassion, integrity and positivity during times which have on occasions been challenging. I will always feel a tremendous sense of pride in being Chair of your Trust and look forward to hearing about your future successes.”
